What is the Impossible Price?

Lower Margin + Lower Overhead
= Grossman's Impossible Price

Virtually all other furniture stores operate on a typical business model that is fairly close to published industry averages. Frankly, even when they run a sale, most of the pricing follows fairly standard industry standard margins.

Thanks to our roots in the old wholesale district in Philadelphia since 1929, Grossman operates on a significantly different business model.

  • First of all, we buy direct from the source.
    There is no middleman's mark-up.
  • Our margin (the amount of gross profit we earn on each transaction)
is about 15%-20% lower than that of a typical furniture store.
Our substantial volume makes us profitable.
  • Our overhead is lower. We simply don't have the cumbersome
rent and excess staff that most other stores have.
  • We limit our advertising expenditure because we've never had to shout. Grossman is the kind of place one hears about from a friend or neighbor.
  • Although we offer financing options, our prices are net of them.
We don't build into our prices an extra 5%-13% to allow for finance charges, as most furniture stores do. We do offer 90 days same as cash, at no additional charge.

All this adds up to significant savings for you. You'll find a substantially lower price at Grossman for furniture, bedding, and accessories from over 200 of the best brands in the industry. We call this the "impossible price" because it is impossible to find true savings like these anywhere else.
