- Before You Finalize Your Order. Please check your Order prior to finalizing it, to ensure accuracy of the item numbers, sizes, finishes, and fabrics. Your order will be placed exactly as submitted. We strive to provide an accurate representation of the finishes online; however, due to changes in lighting and a wide variety of resolution qualities on different computer monitors, some color variation is possible. To better determine the exact color of a finish, we suggest that you examine the actual product, finish or fabric sample if available.
- Measurement. All measurements are estimates given to us by each Manufacturer and may vary from the actual measurement of the item once produced and received. If more precise measurements are needed please contact us. Before you make your final purchase decision, please be sure to measure your door openings, corridors, elevators, hallways, stairways and the area your new furniture will be placed. If you are having difficulty and are in our local area we will be happy to come to your home to help you measure and make sure your furniture will fit upon delivery. Please note that a service fee may apply. If you are not in our local area contact us and we will to our best to help you determine fit. Grossman Furniture is not responsible for furniture that does not fit and will not issue refunds or exchanges if this occurs. Additional charges may apply if we need to deliver by unusual means (e.g. disassembly, hoisting or rigging).
- Deposits and Payments.
In Store Sales
- ALL in store sales require at least a 33% deposit, except factory direct shipments which require a 100% deposit.
- Deposits are payable by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express at the time the sale is written.
- Credit card use cannot exceed 33% of the total sale value and can only be used for initial deposit.
- Final payment must be via cash, certified check, bank check or money order only. Credit cards may be used if the customer cannot reasonably obtain bank check or money order, but a 3% convenience fee will apply.
- As an added service, we offer financing to qualified buyers through a third-party administrator who will bill you directly, according to the provisions of your credit contract. Purchases on credit are subject to the terms and conditions of the associated credit agreement. Any questions or billing disputes must be made directly to the credit company.
Internet sales
- A 50% deposit is required on all orders placed via website except factory direct shipments which require a 100% deposit.
- When the furniture arrives at our distribution center, you will be notified and required to pay the balance by personal check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express).
General
- Returned checks are subject to a $35.00 handling fee.
- Split Shipment. If a split shipment for any item on your order is approved, you will be required to pay the balance on the items being delivered and to maintain the appropriate deposit (33 or 50%) on the remaining items (unless the remaining items require 100% deposit). Additional delivery charges may also apply.
- Change or cancellation of Orders. Please contact Grossman Furniture immediately if you need to cancel or make changes to your order. Clearance/Final Sale/“As Is” merchandise and mattress sets may not be returned, exchanged or cancelled.
If you purchased through special order. You may cancel or change your special order within three days of placing your order without a fee. Thereafter, your special order cannot be cancelled or changed without a fee unless the manufacturer agrees to cancel the order. This fee can be up to 50% of your order depending on the status of the special order at the time you decide to cancel, the type of merchandise you purchased and the fees imposed upon Grossman Furniture by the manufacturer.
If you purchased from our stock.You may cancel or change your order within three days of placing your order without a fee. After three days you may be assessed a fee up to 50% of your order to cover costs associated with preparing your order for delivery.
If you purchased Clearance/Final Sale/“As Is” items. These items are those that we have decided to no longer carry, may have been discontinued by the manufacturer or are floor samples, and are sold as is. It is your responsibility to carefully inspect these items at the time of purchase. Grossman Furniture is not responsible for any defects or damages. There are no cancellations or returns on Clearance/Final Sale/“As Is” merchandise. These items carry no warranty and will not be serviced or repaired. However, service is available on a charge basis.
- Returns. We accept returns for items within the first 30 days of receiving your merchandise. A restocking fee of up to 50% may apply. You may return it for a prompt merchandise exchange, credit, or refund within 30 days of receiving your order as long as all merchandise is returned in new condition (unused, unassembled and in original factory condition), with all original boxes (including all packaging materials), documentation, instructions, and accessories. All returns are subject to our inspection and approval. Personalized and custom items, and shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, and return shipping charges are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. All returned merchandise must be accompanied by a valid Return Authorization Number. To initiate a return, please contact our Customer Service Dept. Once you obtain your Return Authorization Number, you have 30 days in which to get the product back to us. You are responsible for arranging the return shipment of the product. We reserve the right to deny a full refund of the purchase price if the product is not returned in this manner. Items that are returned damaged or without proper packaging materials are subject up to a 50% restocking fee. For all returns and cancellations that "shipped free" a shipping charge equal to the actual cost incurred for the shipment will be withheld from the refund. It is important to save all packaging and not destroy boxes in case of a return
- Delivery Charges. Quotes for delivery charges are based on normal delivery conditions. The delivery price quoted does not include any Special or Unusual conditions. (Examples: limited hours of access to your neighborhood, building or freight elevator, limited access to your home by large trucks, More than one flight of stairs, etc.) Special conditions must be agreed upon at the time the order is placed. Please contact if you have any concerns or questions. The customer will be responsible for all delivery charges which exceed those quoted by Grossman Furniture if special conditions arise.
- Lead Times. Times depends a great deal upon availability of merchandise.
- If the items are on our floor or in stock at our Philadelphia warehouse for delivery in the Philly metro area (approx. 50 mile radius) we can deliver immediately, as soon as the next day.
- If the items are in stock at the manufacturer, we average 6 – 8 weeks for delivery depending on your location and the location of the merchandise. There is a great chance you will receive your items quicker and we will always do everything we can to insure timely delivery.
- If the items are special order they are ordered from the factory and made just for you! They are not stocked; they must be manufactured. At the time of your order, we will give you an estimated lead-time for your furniture production and shipment. We receive an acknowledgment of your order from our manufacturer in roughly two weeks. If there is any change in the approximate delivery date we will notify you immediately. Our office continues to track your order until it arrives at our warehouse. When it comes to delivery times, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer. If we see there's going to be an unusual delay in your shipment, we will notify you.
Please Note: These are estimates, not guarantees. No price adjustments or loaner items will be given due to a manufacturer’s delay.
- Holding Your Merchandise. You will be notified when your order is received at our distribution center. Orders held at our distribution center more than thirty (30) days after notification at the customer’s request may be assessed a nominal storage fee by the distribution center and must be paid for in full.
- Getting Ready for delivery.
- You will be notified when your furniture arrives at the distribution center and a delivery will be scheduled shortly thereafter.
- Driveways and sidewalks must be clear of snow and ice.
- Our delivery crews are required to wear shoes at all times.
- Please have the area cleared to receive your new furniture and move all small items away from the moving path and the room where your furniture will be placed.
- Please be present - In order for us to deliver to satisfaction, it is important for our customers to be present. If you cannot be present at the time of the scheduled delivery, please make arrangements to have a responsible representative present to fully inspect and accept the furniture on your behalf. The signature of you or your representative on the delivery ticket (bill of lading) binds you with respect to all aspects of the acceptance of the delivery including the condition of the items delivered.
- We will not enter homes with only minors present.
Delivery from our Philadelphia warehouse to Philly metro area (approx. 50 mile radius)
- We understand that you’re busy so we can set up a two-hour window for delivery. All of our trucks are equipped with mobile phones so we can call you in the event of an unexpected delay. If you need to cancel a scheduled delivery or pickup for any reason, please contact our scheduler no later than one business day prior to your delivery so that we can avoid excessive handling, which could result in damage to your furniture or charges to your account. Deliveries cancelled less than 24 hours in advance are subject to a $59 cancellation fee.
- We will move your existing piece(s) away from the new item you are receiving. However, they can only be moved within the room it resides. Other items can be moved to various areas in your home for an additional charge. Please ask your salesperson or our scheduler for a list of complete moving charges. Due to insurance regulations our delivery specialists are not responsible for damage caused by moving a customer’s existing furniture.
Delivery Outside our local area
- The movers may be traveling hundreds of miles and make numerous deliveries. The delivery service will make every effort to meet your scheduled delivery time, but please remember delays may occur due to circumstances beyond the driver’s control.
- Have your rooms and pathways to your room(s) cleared and ready for delivery as the drivers cannot move existing furniture. If you need help moving your existing piece(s) please ask your salesperson, call us or ask our delivery scheduler but we may or may not be able to help. There may be additional charges for moving existing furniture. Due to insurance regulations our delivery specialists are not responsible for damage caused by moving a customer’s existing furniture.
- If an item weighs over 250 lbs., you may be asked to provide assistance in moving it.
- Day of Delivery.
- Delivery is made by at least two (2) movers who specialize in delivering furniture.
- If the location of the delivery is not accessible by our delivery truck, it is your responsibility to provide transportation from the truck to the location of delivery. If your order is undeliverable for any reason, the furniture will not be delivered and you will be charged up to a fifty percent (50%) re-stocking fee plus freight charges.
- If the movers have difficulty placing an item in the area of your choosing due to limitations such as narrow halls, stairways, corners or ceiling heights, the items will be placed in another area of your home. If you insist the movers maneuver an item in a difficult situation, you will be responsible for any resulting damages to the furniture and the premises. Please carefully review the section entitled “Damaged Furniture.”
- Please note that our delivery specialists are not permitted to move or place any electronic equipment, including televisions. Please be prepared to do this yourself or have other qualified technicians available to do so. The movers are not permitted to set up baby cribs nor any items that attach to walls. - Upon completion of your delivery we will ask you to inspect the furniture. Then you will need to review and sign the delivery ticket (bill of lading), indicating everything has been received in good condition (unless otherwise noted) and that all work has been completed to your satisfaction.
Delivery from our Philadelphia warehouse to Philly metro area (approx. 50 mile radius)
- When we arrive at your home we will inspect the location where your furniture is to be placed. Protective pads will be placed as needed. We’ll carefully move your furniture into place, unpack it and then install, inspect, clean and level. We will provide any instruction on operation or use of your new purchase. We will take away all debris, packing materials and cartons.
Delivery Outside our local area
- Our delivery specialists are professional and will deliver your furniture with care and consideration. The level of service provided will be that which you selected when you made your purchase on line.
- Not all shipping options permit the movers to remove/dispose of packing materials and those items will be left with you.
- Defective or Damaged Furniture.
- Defects are perceived or actual shortcomings, faults, or imperfections in the furniture. All furniture sold by Grossman Furniture is warranted by each manufacturer (not Grossman Furniture) to be free of defects. All merchandise we sell is from reputable companies with excellent quality control, but defective items are occasionally shipped. In most cases, defects are of minor nature and can be cleared up in the home by a professional furniture technician. While none of our manufacturers offer refunds for defective furniture, the manufacturer will be willing to repair or replace the item if the situation warrants. Grossman Furniture WORKING WITH THE MANUFACTURER WILL DETERMINE, at their sole discretion, IF AN ITEM NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED.
- Remember most furniture products are natural and as such may exhibit imperfections. These imperfections are NOT defects. Natural flaws and imperfections in wood add to a piece’s beauty and charm and should not be viewed as damages or defects. Natural stone varies in color and veining, and there is no control over veining or color. Leather is a natural material and may have healed scars, blemishes or other markings that should be considered natural beauty marks.
- Damages are minor bumps, scratches, dents, or other injury to the furniture as a result of handling or transportation.
Please take your time an inspect all the furniture upon delivery and note any damages or defects on the delivery ticket (bill of lading), as it is much easier to have these problems corrected when noted on the delivery ticket. PLEASE NOTE ON DELIVERY SLIP EVEN IF YOU KEEP AN ITEM If your delivery is taking place during our normal business hours, 9:30-5:30 Mon thru Sat., please call us and we will help you determine what to do. If your delivery is taking place after our normal business hours please contact our on call customer service person and they will help you determine what to do. The phone number will be provided before your scheduled delivery time. If you have misplaced the number the delivery team will be able to give you the number. In the event you receive an item that is defective or damaged we will require photographs clearly showing the defect along with a written description so that we can promptly and efficiently assess and resolve the concern. If you have the ability to send a picture immediately please do so to customerservice@grossmanfurniture.com. We can then look at the pictures while the team is in your home to make the best assessment. In some cases, we will ask that the team return the damaged item to the warehouse. But in most cases, keeping the damaged furniture in your home allows us to remedy the issue more quickly. If you are directed to keep the piece of furniture that is damaged or defective we will we have a professional furniture technician come to your home and correct the problem. We are required by the manufacturer’s warranty to make every effort possible to repair or service the merchandise, using factory provided parts. If the problem is not corrected up to or better than manufacturer standards, we will have a new piece sent to you at no additional cost. If you are directed to refuse the item we will have it replaced or repaired (per our manufacturer’s recommendation) and redelivered to you at no additional cost. In the event an item is returned you may request a credit for that item until the item is returned to your home. Please take your time and inspect the furniture upon delivery, as it is much easier to have any problems corrected if they are noted on the delivery receipt. For extremely simple fixes such as replacing a broken handle, we may send the parts directly to you and ask you to install them. Due to the substantial discounts offered by Grossman Furniture, minor door and drawer alignments as well as minor touch-ups are the customer’s responsibility. In addition re-leveling of units (if necessary) after you install your electronics, computer equipment is the customer’s responsibility
Dust Covers: Dust covers on upholstery pieces are for aesthetic purposes only and serve no function for your furniture. Therefore, they are exempt from any Grossman Furniture or manufacturer warranty. In the event that a dust cover is damaged, Grossman Furniture assumes no liability, but will be happy to direct you to a local technician who can replace it if you really want to do so at your cost. Since it cannot be seen and serves no function, we do not recommend replacing it.
- Satisfaction. We want you to be totally satisfied with your purchase. Before your furniture is delivered it must pass our thorough inspection process along with special detailing to make sure that your new furniture meets or exceeds our high quality standard of excellence. However, please remember that furniture is a product of nature and human hands, and that inherent imperfections are part of the beauty and uniqueness of your purchase. If you have any problems or concerns, please contact your salesperson/designer or the customer service representative within three days of receipt of your furniture.
- Warranties. Most furniture is covered for a minimum of one year against manufacturer product or installation and fabrication flaws or defects. Many manufacturers offer longer warranties. Grossman Furniture makes NO WARRANTIES. Rather we, as a reputable authorized dealer, serves as the advocate and focal point for our customers to service warranted product under the manufacturer warranty. Furniture will be repaired or replaced according to the manufacturer’s provisions. For warranty or service work within our standard delivery zone, standard pickup or delivery charges will be waived within the first 30 days, but thereafter will be at the customer’s expense. In addition an extended warranty can be purchased to increase the warranty beyond the manufacturer’s warranty period. In this case the customer works directly with this 3rdparty warranty to file claims and address problems.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES OR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE THAT APPLY TO THIS SALE. GROSSMAN FURNITURE IS NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY SORT INCLUDING INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
- Title to Goods. Title to goods passes to you at the time of delivery if the balance has been paid in full.
- Jurisdiction and Venue. This document and disputes shall be construed under the laws of the State of Pennsylvania and venue and jurisdiction shall be in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Furthermore, should a dispute arise, this document requires any issues to be subject to mandatory arbitration in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Unpaid Balances. Any balance more than thirty (30) days past due shall bear interest at the rate of ten percent (12%) per annum. In the event collection efforts are necessary, the customer shall be responsible for all expenses of collection including attorney’s fees and costs. Title to goods is retained by Grossman Furniture until all balances are paid in full.
- Limitation on Liability. Grossman Furniture shall not be liable for any special consequential damages that customer may incur if the merchandise is damaged or delayed in shipment or delivery. In no event shall Grossman Furniture be liable to Purchaser for any amount in excess of sums actually paid to Grossman Furniture.
- Miscellaneous. Grossman Furniture may cancel this Agreement without liability to Purchaser by refunding Purchaser’s deposit, if any, without interest. Purchaser agrees to pay Grossman Furniture any sales, excise or similar tax that may now or in the future be imposed on the sale or delivery of the property described on the reverse side hereof, or any service provided for hereunder, or furnish Grossman Furniture with an appropriate exemption certificate. Purchaser shall pay all expenses incurred by Grossman Furniture in enforcing its rights under this Agreement, including all costs, expenses and reasonable attorney's fees incurred by Grossman Furniture in collecting the balance of the purchase price. This Agreement and the instruments referenced herein contain the entire agreement between the parties.
